Retailer JC Penny is releasing a new line targeted to young teen girls and, with the help of Nanette Lepore's 14-year old daughter Violet, the fashion line could be a homerun. With early indication that the targeted age group really digs the clothes, there's a chance that JC Penny might start digging itself out of the hole it's in right now.
Last night’s party to celebrate the launch of Nanette Lepore’s L’Amour collection–one of the many new designer lines included in JC Penney’s revamp–was kind of like the best sweet sixteen ever. Held in the basement of the Hudson Hotel, slinkies hung from the ceiling near an Instagram wall, Alexandra Richards DJed, an old fashioned soda bar was made specially for the under-21 set only, and there were lockers filled with pieces from the collection.
