Perfect Prints

Floral Dresses

Prints are hot news for SS/12 and have been all over the catwalks. From the classic animal print, to up to the moment graphics, prints are setting the trend in a big way. A dress is a brilliant way of wearing this trend - leave accessories minimal to keep all eyes fixed firmly on your statement frock. There are many different styles to choose from, but which one will you go for?

Florals are always a hit in the warmer months and there is plenty of choice out there  Whether subtle pastel colours with delicate flowers or a big, bold abstract design is more your style, there is a floral summer dress waiting for you. They will always look great with raffia wedges and flowers or feather accessories will add to a summer boho look.

Animal print continues to be a strong trend this season – all over the catwalks at Alexander McQueen - and is great for summer evening glamour. Keep accessories simple with black or nude patent platform peep toes and an oversized envelope clutch. This look will always be sexy and seductive, so would be perfect for a romantic dinner or even a first date.

Graphic printing is going to be a real style statement this season, and it doesn’t have to be too over the top. A cute heart print is just as effective as a full scene print. Holly Fulton’s under-the-sea inspired collection is set to be style winners this year, but is not for the fashion shy!

Tribal printing was a hit last summer season and it is back once again, and this year it doesn’t have to be a maxi length, this year there are also shorter alternatives. Of course the maxi does look great in this type of print and is a great summer holiday essential; it will look great whilst strolling on the beaches of San Tropez or relaxing in Mexico.

If printing seems rather a daunting prospect try simple designs in a classic black and white combination. This is always an elegant option that will also never date, if you are looking for an investment piece to wear again and again then this style is for you.
