Pharrell Williams is no stranger to the fashion industry. He’s made a household name out of his Billionaire Boys Club line and collaborated with industry giants such as Adidas and Moncler. However, this time Williams is being tapped to help revive Moynat, the 1849 founded trunk brand that’s looking to make a comeback.

Recently acquired in a buying streak by Bernard Arnault, the brand is looking to freshen up its image to appeal to a different demographic with a younger, more experimental direction. Inspired by the nostalgia instilled by toy trains, the collaboration will be locomotive inspired with train printed leather goods and scarves.

Don’t feel bad if you are thinking to yourself, “Why haven’t I heard of Moynat?” The heritage brand was unfamiliar to the singer who does-it-all until the creative director at French retailer Colette introduced him to the brand. Inspired by the Parisian travel trunks the company was once known for, the new leather goods have been adapted to a more practical and modern styling. Williams quickly snatched up their most popular item, the Pauline bag.

Williams has the magic touch when it comes to music and has proven himself in the “cool kid” brands of fashion. However, we will have to wait and see what Colette unveils on October 13thto find out if this locomotive inspired collaboration is the lift Moynat needs to be mentioned in the same breath as heavy hitters Louis Vuitton and Hermes. Retailing for around $13,000 at current exchange, these limited edition bags are expected to be up to par at least price-wise with the most lavish hand-made goods on the market.

If you’re a fan of the utmost luxury look no further. Moynat has created leather trunks for every fabulous occasion. Want to prepare a full breakfast for two by the pool side? Moynat has a trunk for that. Need a trunk to showcase your macaroons? La Malle Macaron is made for that. There is even a “Profile” trunck to carry your champagne if showing off your affinity for bubbles isn’t your thing. There’s no telling what Williams could go on to create with the brand if this line takes off.
