The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has had a relatively slow week as far as safety recalls have been concerned, and this article seems to show the extent of that. GM is recalling police cruisers and luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz is recalling, of all things, floor mats.
General Motors is recalling about 36,000 Chevrolet Impala police cruisers because of a suspension failure that could cause a driver to lose control. In a separate action, Mercedes-Benz is recalling almost 8,700 accessory floor mats because the gas pedal, when fully depressed, may be caught and held in place by the lip of the mat.
