If you don’t have plans for Labor Day weekend then head on over to Fenway Park for the eighth annual Picnic in the Park fundraiser. On Sunday, September 1, the Red Sox Foundation is hosting a BBQ picnic on the field at Fenway Park to benefit the Foundation’s Red Sox Scholars and RBI Programs.
There will be several auction items available, including pitching lessons with Clay Buchholz and Koji Uehara, fielding lessons with Jonny Gomes off the Green Monster, a private tour of the Red Sox clubhouse with Ryan Dempster, and hitting lessons with Manager John Farrell and bench coach Torey Lovullo.
Fans will also have the opportunity to get autographs from current Red Sox players, and bid on the auction items during the live auction. Mike O’Malley, the star in NBC’s new fall comedy “Welcome to the Family,” will host the event, and Nicole Nelson, who appeared on this season of “THE VOICE,” will be on hand to perform.
