We just returned from our honeymoon in Park City, Utah. After the whirlwind of wedding plans and everything leading up to the big event once our day was over we were in desperate need of some down time. While Park City is probably best known for its amazing skiing and the Sundance Film Festival there is a wealth of other "off" season activities to be enjoyed when visiting there. North Forty Escapes offers a variety of activities. We went for a two hour guided horse back tour up in the Weber Canyon. It was cooler up in the hills and it was just the two of us and our guide on a small winding path through meadows and wooded areas of pine and quaking aspen. Our guide was knowledgable on everything in the area, types of wildflowers that were in bloom and things Utah outdoors. They have horses ranging from the more spirited (for my sweetie) and the mellow I'll just follow whoever is in front of me easy rider type (for me). They have longer and shorter trips depending on your experience and how much time you want to spend in the saddle. All of the resorts have summer activities as well ranging from amazing mountain bike trails to hikes for all levels of experience. Zip lines and alpine slides, miniature golf for kids as well as golf for grownups are all available admist the breathtaking mountain scenery. And the list of place to eat seems endless from top notch fine dining to breweries with pub food. Ignoring Park City in the summer is a huge mistake. A break from the heat and hustle and bustle in the middle of summer is just what you need to recharge.
