SAN DIEGO, CA – This spring Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE:SPG) will bring high-energy runway shows to shoppers across the nation with Simon Fashion Now®. This free, dynamic weekend of style will make a stop at Fashion Valley April 27-28 during the shopping center’s Renovation Celebration. Simon Fashion Now will spotlight mush-have spring trends from Fashion Valley retailers while bringing the drama and excitement of runway shows to stylish shoppers in San Diego.
Unlike the industry showsthat preview styles unavailable for several months, Simon Fashion Now showcases the hottest men’s and women’s fashions of the season that can be immediately purchased at retailers within the mall.
“Our consumers seek immediate gratification and we can provide the NOW factor to them through Simon Fashion Now,” JacquéEllis, assistant vice president of corporate special events at Simon. “We interpret the season’s trends and create hundreds of accessible looks on the runway that are available for purchase that same day.”
Fashion Valley’s Renovation Celebration featuring Simon Fashion Now® begins at on Friday, April 27 with Trends & Friends Night, a free evening of fashion, cocktails and bites, set to take place in Elevator Court from 6 – 9 p.m. Nine luxury retailers will be on hand to feature spring’s hottest trends including Neiman Marcus, Max Studio, Juicy Couture, Custo Barcelona, Tous, Ted Baker London, Karen Millen, Hugo Boss and Betsey Johnson.
Shoppers can expect to see an abundance of styles for men and women ranging from casual weekend wear and stylish outfits for the office, to show-stopping looks for a night on the town. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., eight of the above retailers will showcase their looks during a runway show. At 7:30 p.m., Niemen Marcus will feature an exclusive runway show highlighting luxurious spring fashion.
Participating retailers including Kiehl’s, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, GAP, Omega Boutique, JCPenney, Origins, Pottery Barn and Hard Rock Spa will offer exclusive deals, sampling, demonstrations, consultations and more throughout the evening.
Trends & Friends Night will also offer tasty fare from Boudin, Starbucks, Stacked, Pinkberry and more.
Additionally, San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House will host their annual event Red Shoe Day, during Trends & Friends Night in Elevator Court. Hosted by the Ronald McDonald House, guests are encouraged to drop their loose change and donations into their iconic Red Shoe to help provide a “home-away-from-home” for sick or injured children and their families when they have to travel to San Diego for medical treatment. All donations will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego and the families that call it home.

Guests can connect with our retailers through interactive stations while enjoying an evening of fashion, cocktails, bites and exclusive deals.”
Simon Fashion Now continues on Saturday, April 28 from noon- 5 p.m at Elevator Court with another free day of fashion. All shows are open to the public with seating available on a first come, first serve basis.
Saturday’s runway fashion shows will take place at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The 1 p.m. show will feature Francesca’s Collections, GAP, GAP Kids, Nike, Steve Madden, Sun Diego, GUESS, bebe and JCPenney. The 2 p.m. show will showcase looks exclusively from Macy’s. The final Fashion Valley retailer show at 3 p.m. will spotlight spring trends from Ann Taylor, Lacoste, Everything But Water, Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Bahama, White House Black Market, Caché and Banana Republic.
At 4 p.m. Fashion Careers College, California's premiere fashion-only college, will present their 25th Annual Golden Hanger Fashion Show featuring graduates and current students’ collections on the runway.
In between the high-energy runway presentations, the day will also include an interactive styling competition, Ready, Set, Style! Participants will compete for a chance to win the season's hottest accessory - a Simon American Express® Giftcard*. This event will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the runway stage in Elevator Court.
Runway giveaways will be offered throughout the day to lucky shoppers as they enjoy all of the action.
Simon Fashion Now will feature in-store promotions and special discounts at participating Fashion Valley retailers. Additionally, Style Stops, interactive demonstrations of spring beauty and style trends, will be offered at Elevator Court. Participating Style Stops include Kiehl’s Since 1851, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, MAC Cosmetics, Walking Company, Aveda, Bare Escentuals, L’OCCITANE and Henri Bendel. These stores will offer exclusive deals, sampling, demonstrations and consultations to area shoppers. They are complimentary and available at various times on Saturday.
All Renovation Celebration and Simon Fashion Now activities are open to the public and free of charge.
In advance of the Renovation Celebration featuring Simon Fashion Now, Fashion Valley is also hosting a contest on Facebook.
