Things to Do at Night in Sydney

Going out at night in Sydney is a must when you are on holiday. Of course, different nights of the week are busier than others, but there is always something going on so you’ll never be stuck for something fun to do. If you are planning to stay in one of the Sydney apartments in the heart of the city, it’s even easier for you to enjoy a great night out. Chances are there will be at least a handful of great places to go, well within walking distance of your accommodation. If you are, however, staying in serviced apartments outside of the CBD, that’s ok too. There are plenty of train and bus services that can help you get to where you need to go in no time at all.

Dining on the Harbour

Cockle Bay Wharf is a popular spot for Sydney-siders and tourists alike. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants to check out, and the view has to be one of the best in Sydney. If you are having a romantic weekend in Sydney, then dinner on the harbour is a must.

If you are travelling in the summer time, Darling Harbour is also a great place to spend an evening with the family. There are a range of festivals held here throughout the year, and there’s a family-friendly atmosphere. Buy the kids some gelato at one of the nearby outlets and watch the free live performances and fireworks. A great night to be had for young and old!

Star City Casino

The Casino is a great place to go if you like to have a bit of a gamble. And since its recent refurbishment, there are even more great places to eat, shop and enjoy cocktails. A new nightclub has also been opened here, with party girl Paris Hilton being flown out to mark the occasion.

King’s Cross

King’s Cross is the place to be for some of the hottest nightclubs in Sydney. Not only does it have great clubs, but the ever-changing area is also home to some fabulous eating spots. A lot of these places are small, out of the way restaurants so you have to seek them out, but it’s certainly well worth the effort. Most nights of the week there is plenty going on in ‘the Cross’, especially because there are heaps of hostels here, so young backpackers keep the nightlife going pretty much from Monday through Sunday.

What’s great about Sydney is that there is so much to do during the day and night, whatever kind of traveller you are. Whether you are looking for great places to party or you want to chill out with the kids in a family friendly atmosphere, Sydney has it all.
