Thunder Burger & Bar, located in the heart of Georgetown, will be holding a Halloween Costume Contest, giving adults the opportunity to show off their costumes. The contest will be held on October 31, 2012, with judging taking place at 10:00 p.m. There will be one Best Male Costume award and one Best Female Costume award, with each winning a $50 Thunder Burger & Bar gift certificate.
“Kids shouldn’t be the only ones to have some fun on Halloween. This is a great opportunity to strut your stuff and have some fun,” explains Ryan Fichter, Executive Chef of Thunder Burger. “Plus, if you have a great costume, you may even be the one to win the gift certificate – an added bonus to the fun you will have.”
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are around 41 million potential trick-or-treaters who fall between the ages of 5 and 14. The average American consumes nearly 25 pounds of candy per year, with a good portion of that coming from the observance of Halloween. They also report that Halloween is a tradition that dates back thousands of years to early Celtic rituals. Originally, Halloween was associated with such things as images of vampires, ghosts and witches, although there have been many changes over the years tosoften that image a bit.
“So put on your favorite costume and come on out on Halloween,” added Fichter. “Whether you win the costume contest or not, you are guaranteed to have a howling good time.”
