Tomáseen Foley’s “A Celtic Christmas" Tells an Entertaining Tale of Song & Dance

Spectacle Management

To celebrate the holidays and our heritage, we attended the very entertaining Tomáseen Foley’s “A Celtic Christmas,” last weekend at Plymouth Memorial Hall. We spent the evening listening to Irish storyteller Tomáseen Foley tell some tales from a night before Christmas complemented by Celtic musicians and dancers as they share songs, stories and dance from Ireland’s rich cultural heritage.

Now in its 18th season, Tomáseen Foley’s “A Celtic Christmas” told a hilarious and heartfelt tale of the joy and innocence of the holiday season. In a remote farmhouse in the parish of Teampall an Ghleanntáin in the west of Ireland, neighboring families gather around the fire to share melodies of traditional Irish Christmas carols while filling the home with traditional dances, and laughter of their stories.

“A Celtic Christmas” features Tomáseen Foley (Storyteller/Director), Grammy-award winner William Coulter (Musical Director/guitar/whistle), Marianne Knight (song, dance, flute, accordion & bodhrán), Brian Bigley (uillean pipes, whistle, flute, Irish dance), Marcus Donnelly (Irish dance) and Edwin Huizinga (violin).
