Turkish Airlines Bans Red Lipstick, Nail Polish

Whether or not Turkish Airlines' ban on dark pink and red makeup has to do with Turkey moving toward Islamism, as Fox News is attempting to say, is irrelevant to the fact that the airline actually has a pretty good point: Reds shouldn't be worn as makeup when wearing subdued hues, pastels, on the other hand, would look great.

 

Flight attendants may be the friendliest frequent fliers in the atmosphere -- but it's time for some to kiss a glamorous look goodbye. Turkish Airlines announced on Friday that they will ban their crew from wearing red lipstick and nail polish while in-air, Reuters reports.

"As a consequence of our current cabin uniforms not including red, dark pink, et cetera, the use of lipstick and nail polish in these colors by our cabin crew impairs visual integrity," the aircraft carrier said in a statement. As an alternative, the airline prefers "simple make-up, immaculate and in pastel colours," the Telegraph reports.
