Here's another high-tech business aircraft I'd like to see: Something whose cruise speed might not be all that high, let's say 250 miles per hour or so, but which will be able to take off and land without thousands of feet of runway. Eurocopter is testing something called the X3, which uses a main rotor plus two side propellers to reach speeds as high as 230 knots, or ~260 miles per hour. That's not as fast as a jet, but it can land and take off from any clearing a big helicopter like the Sikorsky S-76 can use. There is also the AW-609, which is a tiltrotor like the V-22 Osprey.
