I have fond memories of the Old Spaghetti Factory. All of the machinery and wide spaces always left me with a sense of wonder, when I was tiny. It's still a nice place, though I understand it's not all that it used to be. Other family friendly Gaslamp restaurants include the Chopahn Authentic Afghan Cuisine and Spike Africa's, but I'll always have a soft spot for the Factory.

I would agree with Spaghetti Factory, or there is also a Yardhouse

The Old Spaghitti Factory, you might try the Hard Rock Cafe because of the nemorabilia

I agree, during the day there are quite a few places... it would help to know how old and if they are picky. Bucca and Spaghetti Factory are good suggestions, I would add Crab Hut (if of course they like seafood!) Dick's last resort would be good too, as long as they are old enough to understand that the servers are SUPPOSED to be rude to you. If you want to keep it within your comfort zone there is always good old Fridays

First of all, the Gaslamp might not be THE BEST place to take kids (at least at night on the weekend or anything like that.) BUT the Spaghetti Factory is always a family winner. And of course there is Bucca de Bepo which is pretty much the same thing anyway!
