The 2014 Dubai shopping festival is currently in full swing and remains one of the most fabulously opulent shopping events in the world. Taking place for a whole month between early January and early February, the festival showcases the very best in retail with technology, luxury goods and fashion at the forefront. Renowned for its discounts and competitions, the festival attracts millions of people from all over the world every year.

A UEA-Wide Extravaganza

The Dubai shopping festival sees stores across the UEA slashing prices with 70 of the Emirates’ shopping malls taking part. Over the course of the month it is possibly to buy luxury goods tax-free and with discounts of up to 75%.

All-Round Entertainment

The festival isn’t just about shopping, and many malls host catwalk shows, music, concerts and sporting events throughout the month. The festival opens with extravagant firework displays and shows, so there’s plenty of entertainment on offer as well as shopping. There are also a multitude of events to keep the kids entertained with this year’s offerings, including performances from the East China State Circus, Canadian Circus, a Furby live show and a appearances from the Teletubbies.


The festival is renowned for its competitions and raffles where top prizes include sports cars, gold and a whole range of other luxury goods. In 2013 Dh 1.3 million worth of prizes were given away. Competitions take place daily and weekly in shopping malls and stores.
