It’s quite interesting that Microsoft would compare the launch of Windows Server 2012 to the Windows NT launch as there was a significant amount of hype behind NT when it first came out. However, I’ve seen minimal information, chatter or hype around Server 2012. It will be interesting to see how 4TB of physical memory changes the face of network computing, though.
Microsoft has formally launched its Windows Server 2012 operating system, which Satya Nadella, president of Redmond's Servers and Tools Business, is dubbing the company's first "cloud OS."
"This is perhaps the biggest release of our server products in history, bigger than NT," he said at the launch event on Tuesday.
