Located on the east side of the wharf is Pier 39 which has plenty of shops, restaurants and arcades to visit. Depending on your mood you can choose between plenty of fast food restaurants or sit down and enjoy a little fine dining. Browse the many different shops searching for that "must have" souvenir. Need to keep the kid's entertained? The Musee Mecanique penny arcade located at Pier 45 is just the place to fill their pockets with penny's and turn 'em loose. Or maybe you would like to take them through the Ripleys Believe It Or Not Museum and see the many "strange" items on display.
In case you don't want to miss that special sports event on T.V. there are several terrific sports bars to visit. Sit back, relax and enjoy the company of other sports fans from around the country. Over at Wipe Out Bar and Grill they have "Orange" Fridays where you can watch the San Francisco Giants and receive a free San Francisco Giantsand Blue Moon logo glass as a souvenir.
There's nothing better than fresh dungeness crab offered at the many restaurants located around the pier area. Everyone has their own specials of the day so the selection is vast and the competition is fierce! After a great dinner maybe you'd like to satisfy that sweet tooth. Ghirardelli's Chocolate Heaven is just around the corner (several locations near the wharf) and is that perfect place to go to end the perfect day on the wharf.
