Pregnant Model Walks Milan Catwalk in Third Trimester

While Fashion Week attention transitions from New York City to Milan, one Italian model is making fashion news on runways overseas. A six-months-pregnant Raffaella Fico strutted her stuff for sexy swimwear label Pin-Up Stars on Saturday, garnering applause from some, but scolding from others. On one hand, Fico is just another model doing her job during Fashion Week— how can you frown upon a working mom? But others are upset with the pregnant model for bearing (almost) all in the third trimester of her pregnancy. What do you think? Should pregnant women flaunt their bumps or cover them up?

This speaks not only volumes for the confidence of the model, but also speaks volumes about the designer by not discriminating. I think it's amazing! To all the whiners, go to any beach and you will see much worse than this in bikinis; not pregnant, female and male. Beautiful!

What a STUNNING, beautiful, pregnant woman. A picture of fertility, grace and beauty! Why would anyone think this is worthy of "scolding". Pregnancy is the most natural thing in the world so why should it be hidden. It's a personal matter and when you're as beautiful as this young woman, why not show your gorgeous body off? I think she's perfect and her belly is just right for 6 months!

@Christine M Tubbytelly: I do not think you can judge her body weight, unless you are her doctor. I was like her, probably with a smaller belly too at 6th month. You do not have to become overweight to be a healthy pregnant mom - in fact you must NOT become overweight, you must not gain too many kilos else you are in high risk of high blood pressure, high blood sugar etc. As for whether women should cover their bellies or not, it's up to them to decide what they want to do. I do not think you would ask that same question if there was a photo of a pregnant woman at the beach gone for a swim.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this...or any woman showing off their bump...it's beautiful and natural. If you see pregnancy, or breastfeeding for that matter, in a sexual light at all...you definitely have some issues! She looks AMAZING!
