It looks like there have been some major shakeups at the CFDA. Diane Von Furstenberg, president of the CFDA for almost 10 years running, has just been voted out of her position and given the title of Chairman of the CFDA. Steven Kolb, who has long held the title of CEO will add president to his title. Lisa Smilor, who previously held the position of executive director, was promoted to executive vice president. Reportedly this is only a change in title to better reflect what each executive member had already been doing—Kolb had been working on day-to-day operations while Von Furstenberg worked closely with the board of directors.

In addition to the changes in the executive positions, the organization added another 40 members to its roster as of this morning, bringing their total numbers to 508. “The 40 new Members—the highest number joining the organization in its history—add to the diversity of the CFDA community,” Kolb said in a statement. “They include designers of jewelry, eyewear, swimwear, lingerie and millinery, as well as talent from Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami and Austin.”
