Fashion Designer Sue Wong's Summer 2011 Collection

Sue Wong's summer collection 2011 showcases the designer's trademark aesthetic "opulent restraint." Sue Wong for Summer 2011 combines her signature old world Hollywood glamour with the exoticism of distant lands like Morocco.

Delicate beading and gentle ruffles enhance classic silhouettes and soft hues. Both full-length gowns, conservative knee-length dresses and even a few minis make an appearance in the new collection. Colors of the collection ranges from soft sky blues to strong turquoise. All the looks would be appropriate at a summertime wedding reception, as well as at an outdoor cocktail party.

The Sue Wong Summer 2011 Bridal Collection is similarly inspired, conjuring up brides from eras gone by, but with a decidedly modern twist. Both drop waists and umpire waists, along with cascades of flowing fabric, are reminiscent of flappers, but the silhouettes are entirely modern.

A refreshing twist on the full-length gown and train are a few cocktail length dresses, perfect for a reception or an alternative style wedding. Unlike many designers, Sue Wong hasn't focused on strapless dresses, instead mingling one shouldered, strapless and skinny straps together so that the modern bride has a choice.

With her inspiration stemming from Hollywood, it's no surprise that Sue Wong has developed a strong celebrity fan base. Her clothes have been worn by Anne Hathaway, Tyra Banks, Vanessa Minnillo, Kelly Osbourne, Taylor Swift and Miley Cirus.

Sue Wong can be found at luxury retailers including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor and on www.SueWong.com.
