Burberry Prorsum Summer Sandals Turn Heads

Still on the search for a great summer sandal? Burberry Prorsum’s got you covered— their Spring 2012 Collection is full of comfortable, luxury women's shoes that are great for the season. These aren’t the typical, tan, blend-in-with-your-sundress sandals that are so abundant near the pool or at cocktail hour. These statement pieces will draw attention, and many compliments, I presume.
These sandals come in several different designs, from strappy sandal, to wedge, with an open toe, peep toe, and even summer bootie. With an array of color options and patterns, I’d go so far as to say that you haven’t seen anything like this collection before. Bold shades of yellow and turquoise color with mixes of beige and brown give off an African charm while still keeping that distinctive Burberry quality. I can see these sandals complementing an equally as eclectic ensemble, or becoming the statement piece when worn with a simple outfit. In short, these sandals are as versatile as they are exotic.
The detail in this collection, which ranges from $325 to about $600, is what gives them true Burberry quality. Woven rope in both the straps and platform make up the body of this shoe, even featuring stripes and patterns in some of the styles. This can really be seen in bootie/sandal hybrid, which sport different braided patterns between the wedge and the boot. Finally, the tassle around the ankle joint adds a special quality to the bootie, while also providing practicality.
This shoe sports a psychedelic (but tasteful) pattern on the wedge. Though the platform is loud, it’s neutralized by the beige weaving around the foot. And check out the buckle! It’s details like this daintily-placed accent that really put the bow on top of this collection.
I particularly love this wedge, whose bright platform would make this a great offset to a black sundress. Don’t make it a maxi, though—the matching beads that drape the ankle of this shoe are what make it a true statement piece.
