Fashion/Fall Trends from MONNIER Frères

They say that accessories make the outfit. Maybe this is why we’re constantly adding to our collection of shoes, bags, sunglasses and jewelry. For fashionable women, there’s no such thing as too many shoes. And there’s one luxury brand that understands our undying obsession with luxury accessories. MONNIER Frères offers up the best in fashion, all with a sartorial eye trained exclusively on accessories. If your bag collection needs a little update or you just can’t find the right scarf to pair with your new little black dress, this online destination is a one-stop-shop.

Based in Paris, the undisputed capital of fashion, MONNIER Frères specializes exclusively in accessories, curating the best pieces from classic Parisian mainstays like Balmain to street-ready brands like Acne Studios. Their selection of women’s accessories changes every season—like our closets—with a collection that is personally selected by their in-house buyers who choose pieces directly from the runways of Paris, New York, London and Milan. The latest it bags, on-trend heels and head-turning sunglasses can all be found here as soon as the collections become available.

For the trendsetters, keep an eye on the new and up-and-coming labels available at MONNIER Frères. They stay ahead of the curve with their fingers on the pulse of fashion and partner with upcoming labels and those breaking the mold. Think orange patent leather boots, graffitied handbags and leather fringe sneakers. At the same time, they partner with well-established brands, from the traditional to the avant-garde. Grab a sleek, leather bucket bag from Lanvin or a nylon backpack with rhinestone googly eyes from Anya Hindmarch. Plus, with a close working relationship with so many brands, you’ll also find MONNIER Frères-exclusive merchandise that is made specifically for the store. And we can’t say no to limited-edition bags.

Some of their latest partnerships include up and coming brands like By Far, Nodaleto and Danse Lente. For lovers of the ‘90s aesthetic (or those who can’t get enough “Friends”) check out the new collection from By Far. Started in 2016 by Bulgarian twins Valentina Bezuhanova and Sabina Gyosheva and their BFF Denitsa Bumbarova, the trio has designed a collection of bags and shoes that are inspired by the minimalist elegance of the ‘90s. One of their bestsellers is the Rachel, named after Jennifer Aniston’s character in “Friends.” Designed with the style of the ‘90s but the mindfulness of today, the entire collection is made from up-cycled deadstock Italian leather, ensuring the collection is not only beautiful but eco-friendly.

Debuted just this season, Nodaleto was presented during Fall/Winter 2019 Fashion Week by Julia Toledano and Olivier Leone. With only four pairs of shoes, the duo made their impact with ballet flats and ankle boots in black, ecru and orange patent leather with a violent ‘70s rocker aesthetic. The success of their tiny collection proves it’s all about quality, not quantity.

If your shoe closet is already bursting at the seams, check out the bags from recently partnered brand Danse Lente, from South Korean designer Youngwon Kim. Launched in 2017, her bags are already a hit among fashion’s it-girls who love the luxe materials, funky details and unexpected silhouettes and color-ways.

Or make room in your jewelry box for some of the sleek and understated luxurious pieces from Charlotte Chesnais.  After nine years working under Nicolas Ghesquière and designing for Balenciaga and Paco Rabanne, she launched her eponymous label in 2015 with a line of silver and vermeil jewelry. Her pieces are simple, streamlined and eye-catching, though, at times, they can be complex in their construction. In just a few years, her pieces have been such a success, she’s taken home the ANDAM Fashion Accessories Prize. Her earrings, in particular, are absolutely must-haves for your collection.

If you’re overwhelmed by the selection at MONNIER Frères and can’t narrow down which pieces to add to your wardrobe (we have the same problem), check out their editorial page. Giving shoppers a full fashion overview, here is where they highlight trends they’re selling straight from the runway, interview fashion stars and partnered designers, and feature how-to’s so you can try out the latest trends of the season. Even the ones that seemed impossible to pull off—like sequins for daywear.

Whether you’re looking for a few fun pieces to complete your look or you love having the latest trends at your fingertips, MONNIER Frères understands what makes an outfit. Shop multiple brands, from well-known houses to relatively unknown fashion prodigies, and find your new favorites all on one site. Can’t decide on just one new piece? We understand—there’s no shame in picking up one of everything.
