L'Oreal's new spokesmodel is an industry regular and once a muse of Karl Lagerfeld. While many of L'Oreal's spokesmodels are faces familiar in entertainment, from Beyoncé Knowles, Diane Keaton, Jennifer Lopez and Andie MacDowell, the new spokesmodel is Inès de la Fressange.
Now in her 50s, Inès was once among Karl Lagerfeld's most famous muses and the face of Chanel. Inès and Lagerfeld fell out a while ago, but recently reconnected. Last summer, Inès walked the Chanel runway and has also landed the cover of Elle France.
Inès has been keeping busy in her time off the runway, as the current creative director for Roger Vivier and author of Parisian Chic: A Style Guide, which covers everything Paris, from where to shop for her favorite things, to where to eat and how she has maintained her model looks, without Botox.
Although she has stayed out of the limelight for the past decade, Inès is a somewhat surprising choice for the L'Oreal brand, which tends to favor well-known celebrities. However, industry insiders think she is a great choice and will represent the L'Oreal line well.
According to L'Oreal, she has "divine grace" and "irresistible je ne sais quoi" that make her perfect for representing the brand.
Of her new gig, Inès says, "I am very pleased to work with L'Oreal Paris. Beauty is a real source of freedom. I believe in the slogan, 'Because we're worth it!' I love those words, which are still perfectly relevant today."
