When it comes to luxury fashion during the holidays, only a couple of things come to mind: shimmery metallics and crave-worthy vintage. Luxury brand Burberry has the right idea, as its new makeup collection for Holiday 2012 is appropriately titled “Vintage Gold.” The classically British label knows that the holidays are for remaining traditionally elegant with a touch of glitz and glam, so its collection this season includes new additions that will help you achieve your ideal under-the-mistletoe look.

The brand’s range of eye makeup is vast and versatile, with an impressive five new complete shadow palettes for your choosing. With four shades in each compact, the $59 palettes are designed for effortless application. Choose from the greys in “Smokey Grey,” warm neutrals in “Mocha,” cool neutrals in “Pale Nude,” smokey neutrals in “Dark Spice,” plum shades in “Plum Pink,” and pink neutrals in “Pink Taupe.” Each palette contains and illuminating base, two blendable shades to add structure to your look, and a liner to define and enrich your features. The formulas are blended with silky silicones and enriching conditioners for a buttery smooth application and timeless, sultry look. Of course, no Burberry product would be complete without the traditional plaid case, and this one contains three convenient eye brushes— essential for smooth application in otherwise unpredictable holiday travels.
The brand’s new lip glow shade is limited edition for the holidays, so grab it now while it’s still available. “Vintage Gold” is an ideal shade for the winter, but its hydrating, creamy formula is meant to create the illusion of plumper, fuller lips any day of the week. This $27 light-reflecting gloss adds a hint of color to your holiday ensemble— we could easily see it being worn with an equally-as-sparkly cocktail dress or adding shimmer to a classically neutral look. And don’t forget the collection’s finishing touch: a limited edition beauty charm that features a single check-engraved cube attached to a luxurious faux-leather tassel. The charm opens to give you a natural pink lip gloss to add a hint of color on the go.
