Sorellina, the sister duo of Kim and Nicole Carosella, just opened last year, but has already impressed with its first luxury jewelry collection that has six different themes. By blending opposing ideas of feminine with masculine and vintage with modern, Sorellina’s collection is versatile yet timeless. The sisters dabbled in similar areas before answering to their obvious calling: Nicole studied fine art and photography before taking her mother’s suggestion and enrolling in the Fashion Institute of Technology for jewelry design, and Kim studied art history both in the states and abroad before switching gears. The girls’ experience with creative design is apparent in their debut line, whose pieces range from $500 to $75,000.
Favorites from the Luna theme include the Sapphire Petal Earrings, which are made of nearly 8ctw of sapphires in four different varying shades of blue. They’re set in platinum with an 18K yellow gold back plate with hand-pierced stars. These earrings are designed specifically for the left and right ear in order to give a true petal effect to the wearer. We love the detail and thought that went into these earrings.
The jewelry from Otto is geometrical and refined. All of the pieces, like the Otto Studs, have an octogonal shape. The studs have a paved diamond frame that surrounds 18K yellow gold prong-set pink quartz. These earrings are sweet for day time, but we can see how they could add a sultry touch to an evening outfit.
The Axl theme is a little more daring, featuring pieces like the Axl Serpente Bracelet, which has an oxidized silver Venetian box chain with a hand-engraved 18K yellow gold snake closure with diamond eyes. The Marquise earrings include the same box chain feature, however this one is 18k yellow gold and hangs from rough-cut white sapphires that are surrounded by diamonds.
The appropriately-titled Hail Storm theme features diamond pieces that cluster to make the appearance of frosted flower petals. The Fiore Earrings consist of diamonds and grey diamonds set in platinum with yellow gold accents. Like the Sapphire Petal Earrings, these earrings are made for designated ears to line the lobe and create a beautiful illusion.
The Victoria theme consists of two snake pieces, one of them being the Serpente Bracelet, featured above. Diamonds with pink and green tourmaline top the head and tail of the 18k yellow gold and oxidized silver-bodied snake that wraps around the finger. The Serpente Studs have diamonds set in oxidized silver with 18K yellow gold.
Finally, the butterfly-inspired Puccini theme contrasts Victoria, sporting an array of butterfly studs, rings, and earrings. The 18K yellow gold cage encompasses a grey gold branch that holds six platinum butterflies containing marquise cut rubies, sapphires, and diamonds.
