Milus Raises The Bar With New TriRetrograde Bicolour Watch

Luxury Watches: Since Baselworld 2009, the watch industry has seen the reemergence of the classic, hand-crafted timepiece. Technology has met craftsmanship to produce some of the most advanced and visually stunning watches the world has ever seen. From the rebirth of the tourbillon to the new emphasis on complications, watch makers have been stretching to the limits of their creativity and beyond.

And with great challenges come great results, as we have seen time and time again already this year. This is no different for time-tested and continuously honored Swiss watch brand Milus. Since 1919, their designs have questioned the boundaries and expectations of watch making, producing iconic and formidable timepieces coveted by collectors and acclaimed by critics. This year, the brand has focused on upping the ante: taking what they have done exquisitely already, and pushing them even further into the realm of perfection. One of the designs that is getting a luxury facelift is the already stunning Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton, now available for the first time in a bicolour version. The new version takes the initially dramatic and bold watch into the luxury arena by combining the masculine titanium with rich 18k rose gold. The nine-part case made of titanium is off-set by the warm red gold bezel, which surrounds the immaculate and eye-catching dial.

Aside from the already exclusive use of extravagant materials, Milus continues to set itself apart from the crowd with one of the most innovative dials of the season. Traditional faceted hour and minute hands are made of red gold in this version and are partially coated by white SuperLuminova. These hands indicate the rose gold colored Arabic numerals and indices at the edge of the dial. But where things get intriguing is toward the center of the dial.

The industry has seen watch complications that have included small seconds in 60-second counters and some 30-second counters, but this is where Milus breaks the mould. The Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton features the bold retrograde seconds function in three sectors of 20 seconds each at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock.

Each seconds hand is in the shape of an oscillating rotor made of the 18k rose gold, lending the watch an even more unique look. Starting in the center at 6 o'clock, the first rotor performs the first 20 seconds ride before swinging instantly back to its starting position, followed by the same action by the rotor at 10 o'clock and then 2 o'clock, repeating tirelessly, minute after minute.

True to the initiative of the brand, Milus's designs routinely question industry standards and put them ahead of the rest in terms of both aesthetics and technology. Because of this unceasing determination, Milus has become a leader amongst its peers and the Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton Titanium Bicolour stands as yet another example of their unparalleled expertise.
