Kanye West may have received mixed reviews when it came to his ready-to-wear collections during Fashion Week, but there’s no denying the man knowns how to create a covetable shoe. During his F/W 2015 NYFW presentation in February we were introduced to the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350, and since then sneakerheads and fashion lovers alike have been clamoring for the limited-edition shoes. The Yeezy 750 Boost and gray Boost 350 have already been released, but several independent retailers, including Matches Fashion, have confirmed that the black-edition Boost 350 will be released on August 22, 2015. Mark your calendars.
The first two special-edition collaborations sold out almost instantly, so anyone hoping to get their hands on these kicks will have to move quickly. While the price is estimated to be the same as the gray sneakers, $200, anyone not lucky enough to score them on day one could be looking at an almost 500 percent price increase due to resale values—and that number continues to climb. Of course, info about the black Yeezy Boost is estimated solely on the release of the gray editions—limited quantities, retailer availability or popularity could make that number skyrocket. This is one of those rare cases where it might be best to just stand in line.
