Lamborghini Academy: Cool Supercar Driving School

Luxury Cars: You get to travel to Italy and drive Lamborghinis for two days. What more needs to be said to whet the interest of a thoroughbred-driving enthusiast to pack and go? The Lamborghini Driving Academy puts guests on a professional racetrack and has them driving either a Gallardo LP560-4 or a Mucrcielago LP640. The Lamborghini Academy provides the vehicles, the track, driving instructors, and luxury accommodations in its all-inclusive luxury-vacation packages.

While owners of Lamborghinis are welcome to participate in the academy's three courses, the Lamborghini Academy provides all vehicles. So, owning a Lamborghini is not a requisite to attending. Class sessions take place at two separate racetracks, the Adria International Raceway and the Vallelunga Racetrack, which is near Rome. Programs also are held at other locations, such as racing circuits in Germany.

The Adria International Raceway has hosted the German Tour Cars, Italian Formula Three events, and the FIA FT Championship. The circuit stretches out more than 1.6 miles and has eight curves. The track is located in the bucolic Veneto Region of northern Italy in Adria. The Vallelunga Racetrack is in the province of Campagnano. It is a FIA-certified circuit that is used as a test track by several Formula One teams. Vallelunga, which was built in 1951, has hosted numerous events on its 2.54-mile track with six distinct curves.

Lamborghini Academy sessions are offered in three levels. The Lamborghini Track Academy ensures that shifting, steering, and braking these vehicles is mastered before placing drivers haphazardly to the next level. While driving these cars is an experience to die for, the academy stresses a safety-first teaching technique at all levels. There also is an advanced-level course and a winter academy, which places participants in extreme conditions caused by en clement weather. This is where driving the academy's Lamborghinis may be most appreciated.

The driving extravaganzas include vehicles, expert driving instructors, accommodations and meals, trackside hospitality (snacks and drinks), and photos and DVDs of the festivities during a two-day stay. Special one-off events can be set up for social or corporate affairs. The company does have special days for owners of Lamborghinis to bring their car to the tracks as well.
