Johnnie Walker Releases Ltd. Edition Double Black

Johnnie Walker, the legendary Scotch whisky brand founded in 1820, has announced the U.S. arrival of its new limited edition Double Black bottling. To create the bold, complex spirit, the trademark smoky characteristic of Johnnie Walker’s famed Black Label, which celebrated its 100th anniversary recently, was amplified to deliver an additional rich intensity of flavor.

Select single malts from Johnnie Walker’s unparalleled reserves including both naturally smoky aged whiskies and whiskies matured in deep charred oak barrels were blended together in perfect harmony.

Master Blender Jim Beveridge created Johnnie Walker Double Black to complement the current styles of the Johnnie Walker portfolio while maintaining the "centuries-old tradition of blending the world’s leading Scotch whisky." Johnnie Walker holds a Royal Warrant from the Queen of England.

The mix of single malts in Double Black often include casks from smaller, remote distilleries on Scotland’s West Coast. The whisky has a full-bodied flavor offering intense smoke, dried fruit and notes of creamy vanilla, peat smoke, apples, pears and orange zest. Double Black carries a suggested retail price of $40 per 750 ml bottle. Visit JohnnieWalker.com to see more.
