Though Gucci has a themed café in Florence near the brand’s museum, the company has been behind other luxury brands when it comes to opening full-service restaurants—Versace has four. However, as of three months ago, Gucci officially entered the restaurant business by opening its very first establishment in Huaihai Lu, Shanghai called 1921 Gucci Café.
According to Haute Living, the 1,180-square-foot eatery took two years to complete and can be found on the fourth floor of the IAPM luxury mall. Accessed via an elevator in the Gucci store, the café boasts some serious branding and the company’s logo is seen on everything from cloth napkins to plates. The Italian menu was designed by Chef Giuliano Dacasto and includes delectable desserts and foie gras. As of right now, the standard price per person is just $24, with the prix fix menu costing around $50.
Though the café doesn’t seem to have a website to speak of, patrons have been busily Instagramming their experiences to show the world that they are among some of the first to experience the restaurant.
