Gordon Ramsay Brings MasterChef to the Small Screen

Food & Spirits: MasterChef has been rumored to be in the works for a while, but the stateside incarnation of the 90s British hit is finally getting ready to make its debut in July.

Kitchen Nightmares' potty mouth celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to be the host, and he is set to bring big names in the kitchen with him as guest judges, including Mario Batali's partner, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot Bowles.

The show gives amateur chefs the chance to cook professionally, by putting them through the paces of various challenges to create the best possible dishes.

This will be the first time MasterChef has hit the States, but it has previously met with much popularity and success in Britain and Australia. Gordon Ramsay was not involved in those incarnations and MasterChef is said not to interfere with his regular program, Kitchen Nightmares.

The American Idol for chefs is set to premiere on Fox in July.
