Sweden-based company Hästens has produced luxury mattresses since 1852, including the Vividus model and other deluxe beds and accessories. The exclusive brand caught our attention with the recent announcement by The Hazelton Hotel that it had ordered a Vividus bed for a special guest during the Toronto International Film Festival. In a press release issued by The Hazeleton regarding the VIP patron’s request, it was announced that the price of the new bed was $99,900.
“[The Toronto International Film Festival] TIFF represents the pinnacle achievement for our guest services team," said David Mounteer, the general manager of The Hazelton Hotel, in a statement regarding the extravagant bed. "Our team will go above and beyond to make sure that all their needs are met."

Each Hästens-built bed is handmade and takes, on average, 150 hours to make them, requiring up to six months to deliver an order. The custom-made beds are offered in three models: continental, frame and adjustable.
Which Hollywood A-list visitor requested the special bed? Mums the word on that query, according to David Mounteer. "While we will never reveal which one of our A-List guests ordered the bed, we can tell you that the experience has a positive note, as we will be extending our relationship with Hästens to secure their products within our suite mix," said Mr. Mounteer.
