There are many things that come to mind when one thinks of South Beach, Miami: clear water, bronzed skin, perhaps an abundance of gold chains and white linen...but environmentally friendly services and products rarely top the list – that is, until now.  The 1 Hotel & Residences South Beach will now offer residential luxury units operated by SH group (Starwood’s hotel management company) atop their 417-room hotel, designed around a firm eco-conscience.

1 Hotels was developed by Barry Sternlicht, Starwood Capital Group Chairman and the creator of the W Hotels and St. Regis hotel brands. Now this visionary is combining his talents with The LeFrak Organization’s real estate development team to bring the environmentally friendly property, 1 Hotel & Residences South Beach, to Miami.

Spending more than $100 million, 1 Hotel & Residences South Beach is determined to convert the current 1970’s structure into a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified and environmentally conscious structure. The standing property features 600 linear feet of beachfront and awe-inspiring views of the Atlantic Ocean, so there is already a good foundation on which to develop the residential homes.
