Aston Martin One-77 Breaks Cover

Luxury Cars: The Geneva Motor Show was utilized by Aston Martin to unveil its latest Aston Martin One-77, the first of the limited edition 77 cars. It will be shown throughout the duration of the Geneva event.

The car merges high-technology with hand-crafted elements to exhibit the exclusive capabilities and zeal of Aston Martin designers, engineers and technical associates. It utilizes hand-rolled aluminum body paneling and each car is tuned by hand - the definitive expression of the Aston Martin brand. That aim has been successfully attained in the One-77. Patterned after racecars observed on the DTM race circuit, the car comes with a carbon fiber monocoque that is both tough and light. To lower unsprung weight, the car comes with inboard double wishbone suspension at each corner. It benefits from Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve damping, which the Japanese carmaker says is a first for a road vehicle. Even while the dampers are on the vehicle they are totally adaptable. Aston Martin engineers tune the suspension by hand. A suspension system like this comes only with truly potent cars. But potent the One-77 is!

There are talks that suggest it will come with 600hp and an acceleration rate of 0-100km/h in 4 seconds. The fact is, the One-77 will come with a 7.3-liter naturally ventilated V12 unit that generates in excess of 700bhp! Final performance numbers are not yet available, unfortunately. With the use of a dry-sump, the engine of the One-77 is located lower than other V12 versions by 100mm. This is needed for a lower center gravity.
