Luxury Hotel Collection Will Open New Resort in China Early 2014

Luxury hotel brand One&Only announced that its first hotel and resort in China will open in early 2014. China’s first One&Only is being raised on Tufu Bay in Sanya, Hainan, China. Tufu Bay looks out onto the South China Sea. There are several luxury hotel brands, such as Mandarin Oriental, with hotels and resorts in Sanya, the southernmost city in the People’s Republic of China.

The One&Only Sanya resort will place an emphasis on privacy and luxury while evoking a “sense of place” that showcases the natural elements of Sanya. The deluxe hotel and resort, which is being built on 40 acres of private coastline, will have 180 guestrooms and villas available on the mixed-use luxury property.... Read More

You cannot fully appreciate the immensity of a building like Hong Kong’s ICC tower, until you view it from afar. Even from the windows at the top of the Ritz-Carlton, which occupies all of the utmost levels of the building, it takes a moment of studying the landscape: realizing that you can blot out cars and semi-trucks down below with the tip of your thumb. Helicopters are not authorized to fly as high as the space that the hotel occupies. That is how high it is. The shape of the ICC building mimics that of a dragon, a fitting homage to this iconic Asian city that it seems to guard.... Read More
