Around the world, Ritz-Carlton resorts and hotels are known for the elegance, grandeur and exemplary service. The May Fair's 80 Year History is Filled With Royalty, Celebs & Decadent Parties

Feb 3, 2015  |   Contributor: Sean Hillen

It’s hard to find a more fashionable area of London than Mayfair, which is probably why The May Fair itself has been such a popular hotel ever since King George V and Queen Mary opened it with much royal fanfare in 1927. Since then, the 400-room, 12-suite property has undergone many changes and owners and is now part of the Edwardian Group London founded by Jasminder Singh.

Baglioni Hotel London Brings a Little Bit of Italy to England's Capital City

Jan 27, 2015  |   Contributor: Sean Hillen

The impromptu master class in mixology, courtesy of award-winning mixologist Salvatore Maggio, proved to be one of the highlights of my stay at the glamorous and quintessentially-Italian Baglioni Hotel London opposite Kensington Palace and Gardens. Located near the Royal Albert Hall, this five-star property celebrates La Dolce Vita with black and white photographs honoring the stars of art, cinema and fashion such as Sophia Loren adorning a panel in the lobby, as well as on bedroom walls.

Once the Grand Dame of Berlin and a celebrity haunt during the Roaring Twenties, the century-old Hotel Zoo has now undergone a two-year renovation (2012-2014) that is proving you really can teach an old (dame) new tricks. Playing host to Hollywood stars such as Grace Kelly and Sophie Loren, the old hotel was first constructed as a private residence before opening its doors to the public.

Follow the Path of HRH The Queen of England on This 12-Day Douro River Cruise

Jan 17, 2015  |   Contributor: Nicolle Monico

I’ll be the first to admit that cruises typically aren’t my thing; but this 12-day, 11-night Douro River of Portugal getaway has my attention. I could say that it’s because of its interesting shore excursions or that the allure of Portugal drew me in, but let's be honest, it's because of HRH The Queen of England. Why you ask? Just take a gander at her in the below picture when two years ago, everyone's favorite long-living royal put her stamp of approval on the vessel, all the while dressed like vanilla soft serve (also a favorite).

The New York Palace Offers Exclusive Rarities Reserve Experience With Private Sommelier

Jan 16, 2015  |   Contributor: Jared Paul Stern

The ultra-luxurious New York Palace hotel is a rare combination of beautifully-preserved Gilded Age architecture and dramatic modern design, pairing an 1882 mansion with a soaring glass tower in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Over 100-years ago prominent financier Henry Villard commissioned Stanford White to build a cluster of opulent Renaissance-style residences on Madison Ave. between 50th and 51st Streets. Later on the Villard Mansions became the foundation of the New York Palace in 1980 when the contemporary addition was constructed.

InterContinental Toronto Yorkville Shines in One of the City's Swankiest Neighborhoods

Jan 14, 2015  |   Contributor: Maria Yates

Before 2015 rolled in, I took my yearly pilgrimage to Yorkville, which is, without a doubt, one of Toronto's swankiest areas. It's also my personal favorite city in the vicinity. Any time of the year Yorkville is trendy and glamorous, and maintains a small-village feel within a large metropolis. But during the month of December, with the extra twinkling of festive lights, it is especially attractive and romantic.

Defying Gravity at St. Regis Deer Valley: Trampoline Snowboarding, Elevated Cuisine and a Bear of a Spa Experience

Jan 8, 2015  |   Contributor: Susan Kime

I couldn’t resist the idea of joining an anniversary party, especially since this was the celebration of the high-altitude, high-end St. Regis Deer Valley. It is just 39 miles from Salt Lake International Airport and one mile from Park City’s historic Main Street. Being nearly 8,000 feet above sea level, I felt as if I were in another world; lighter, away from the pull of gravity.
