Cabo San Lucas Culture: As a freelance photographer for over 25 years, Tomas Spangler has always been attracted to subjects having interesting juxtaposition of shapes, textures and colors. In everyday scenes, he searches for those elements that have the potential to make an image special. He enjoys adding a touch of surrealism through his interpretation whenever possible. That's why, for him there is no greater country to explore visually than Mexico.
Tomas studied at Kansas State College and Orange Coast College in Southern California before he took off to photograph the world. Forty-six countries and countless incredible experiences later, he settled in Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico which has been his primary residence for the last 20 years. Tomas has worked for numerous publications including National Geographic, and he is currently exhibiting his work in the Los Cabos area. Plans are being finalized for shows in other locations in Mexico.
