Seabourn’s small-ship luxury cruises have been whisking guests away to top travel destinations, and hidden gems, around the world for nearly 25 years, but there’s one locale they haven’t hit until now: Antarctica. Starting in November 2013, the newest of the six Seabourn ships, Seabourn Quest, will be setting sail on a series of four 21- to 24-day excursions between Valparaiso, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Heading down the Chilean coast, stops will be made in Puerto Montt, the island of Chiloe and Puerto Chacabuco, before winding through the Chilean Fjords and Beagle Channel. It will then cruise by Cape Horn and enter the Southern Ocean where it will dock in Antarctica for a 5-day exploration by foot and inflatable boat led by an experienced expedition staff.

Some highlights include breathtaking scenery in Lemaire Channel, Paradise Bay and the Gerlache Strait, as well as appearances by experts such as scientists and naturalists who will speak on these sites to enrich the experiences as they are happening.

On the way to or from Buenos Aires, visits to Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, and Uruguay's capital, Montevideo will be made. A special 24-day holiday version will feature two days discovering the majestic wildlife of the sub-Antarctic in South Georgia Island, where guests will spot king penguins and other seabirds, along with elephant and fur seals.

Beginning September 4, 2012, these new Ultimate Antarctica & Patagonia voyages go on sale for cruises starting in November 2013. Visit Seabourn.com to learn more.
