Four Points by Sheraton Eastham Cape Cod Hotel - The Thrill of it All!

Luxury Hotels: No doubt about it. The Four Points by Sheraton, located on Cape Cod, Mass., in Eastham, is the ONLY full-service hotel on the lower Cape. We’ve stayed at numerous properties in the area – many of them small motels that haven’t been renovated since the Eisenhower administration. We can proudly tell you – the Four Points by Sheraton, in our opinion, is also the BEST place to stay, if you plan to take in the sights (and award-winning beaches) in Orleans, Eastham, Truro, Wellfleet and Provincetown. Cape Cod Life Magazine agrees, naming it “The Best” resort/hotel on the outer cape.

What gets us so excited? Well, it’s that this Starwood property offers a great deal to lower Cape vacationers, and added to that, gets it all right.

Start with the rooms. Bright, cheerful, modern, these lovely rooms feature the renowned Four Comfort beds – Sealy beds with a thick pillowtop, which make every night (and every nap) a dream. These beds have won awards within the industry, and it’s easy to see why. They’re the best beds you’ll find down the Cape – or anywhere, for that matter.

All Four Points by Sheraton rooms also feature free wireless Internet, a refrigerator with coffee station and complimentary packets of Seattle’s Best Coffee, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and 32-inch flat panel TV. Do what we do – request an outside room (which doesn’t face the pool), which means you’ll have plenty of luxurious quiet. Not that the poolside rooms aren’t great either – it just means that now and then you’ll hear kids playing “Marco Polo!”

Aside from great, comfortable rooms, the Four Points by Sheraton also has oceans of amenities that we love: indoor and outdoor pools (the indoor pool is a huge hit with families); a game room; exercise room with cardio theater (where Deb gets the job done every night); business center with complimentary Internet; mini-mart; tennis/basketball courts; and Bellamy’s Grill & Bar (more on that in a minute). There are also two two-bedroom apartments (1,100 square feet each) which sleep eight, if you come for a wedding, reunion, or just with your extended family, making 107 total rooms in all.

Of course, of most importance in the summer months is the fact that the hotel is just five minutes’ away from fantastic beaches – the terrific Nauset Light Beach, and Coast Guard Beach, which is an award-winner selected by “Dr. Beach.” In other words, when you stay at the Four Points by Sheraton in the summer, you’re going to get the beach experiences of your dreams. In Fall as well, the property does a brisk business, during Indian summer, when the Cape still offers all kinds of events. You’re close to all kinds of fabulous restaurants (we love PB Boulangerie Bistro, Moby Dick’s and Van Rensselaer’s and you’ll find our reviews on JustLuxe.com), as well as hiking and biking trails, and the Cape’s famous kettle ponds that are ideal after a day at the beach. And there’s more.

An A+ During School Vacation Week

Jacqui Frost, the hotel’s General Manager, explained how the hotel, in the middle of winter, does a booming business with families in February, during School Vacation week.

“It’s a big deal,” Ms. Frost explains.

“We also offer a wealth of daily activities, including complimentary pizza and hot dogs, talks by experts from the planetarium or the Audubon society, magic shows – and kids’ bingo every night is very, very popular.”

“It’s also the same in April, when we do hockey weekends in March. Families love coming for the indoor pool,” she adds.

To make the hotel even more attractive, the property offers two innovative rates: A “New England Residents” rate of 10% off the price of the room, and a “birth year” rate, in which you’ll pay a price equal to the year in which you were born.

“These are both available on our website,” says Ms. Frost.

“Family and military reunions, and church retreats, are very popular here. You’ll have the entire hotel at your service, and the use of hospitality suites," she adds.

And the hotel will do what it takes to accommodate your special requests. Recently, the hit TV show “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover” on the Bravo Network booked more than 300 rooms, as they were taping a show in nearby Provincetown.

“We created office space especially for them...of course we were going to do that for them," she says.

“We have had other events for groups in which we have brought in manicurists and masseuses for the wives of the attendees.”

You’ll Say “I Do”

And if you – or someone you know – is seeking an authentic place to hold an inimitable Cape Cod wedding, the Four Points is the place. “Many people visit the Cape for destination weddings,” explains Ms. Frost. “And no one has ever been less than thrilled with the results.” You’ll also love the price – and what bride doesn’t love that? Cindy Ladd, Director of Sales, pointed out that the hotel’s wedding package starts at just $55 per person (25 person minimum) for the “Just Married Buffet Dinner” that let you choose, among other things, three entrees, and which includes ballroom rental. “Our indoor pool and atrium is great for pre-reception cocktails at weddings,” Ms. Frost added. Having plenty of free parking is also an attractive advantage, especially when you consider how much you’d pay for parking in Boston.

If dinner at Bellamy’s, the hotel’s on-site restaurant, is any indication, your wedding or event will enjoy outstanding fare. Donald Calvert, Executive Sous Chef, explained how the hotel prides itself on its homemade fare, to include homemade chicken tenders, steak-and-cheese egg rolls, and sole wrapped with shrimp and garlic, for example. Plus, he added, “Our crabcakes are homemade, and so are our ribs, and we make our own barbecue sauce and Parmesan-peppercorn dressing.” He especially raved about the homemade pancakes served at breakfast. “We try to make everything as homemade as possible.” Our opinion: It’s all excellent. And don’t miss the dessert minis: strawberry shortcake, cookies and cream pie, chocolate mousse pie, and warm apple pie, all available in small portions costing just $3 each. We had a terrific dinner here and know you will, too.

“Our core values are that of honest, uncomplicated comfort,” says Ms. Frost, comparing a cozy stay here to a slice of warm apple pie with a cold glass of frothy beer.

We couldn’t agree more.
