Hotels: Located in the former Federal Reserve Bank building, the Langham Hotel offers a tranquil haven in the city's economic and cultural heartland. Be sure to check out one of two original N.C. Wyeth murals, commissioned by the Federal Reserve Bank, which hang in their original location. The building was constructed in 1922 in Renaissance Revival style, and later converted to a hotel in 1981. For a more detailed look at the history of the property over the years, visit the fifth floor where 15 photographs are on display.

Choose from one of their more luxurious and spacious rooms, which include a two-story loft, along with a contemporary and Presidential suite for an extended stay. The complimentary in-room amenities are some of the finest and lavish in the city, including bottled water, toothpaste and toothbrush, a comb, shaving kit and razor as well as a complete shoeshine kit, to name just a few. Each room comes complete with luxury linens, an Italian marble bathroom, iHome docking station for iPod and a well-stocked minibar.

After settling in, we decided to go to BOND restaurant for dinner and drinks. The spectacular lounge, located in the room which once functioned as the former bank's Member's Court, has the enormous chandeliers, comfortable seating and a beautiful mirror bar. Here, you can relax with the beautiful people and sip on some cocktails that reflect the building?s storied history, including The Trust, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie & Clyde and Butch Cassidy. Get your name on the VIP list to ensure entry then stop by the Dom Perignon Lounge where you can share small plates

Saturday afternoons are the best day of the week at The Langham where you can indulge in the Chocolate Bar. The $38 all-you-can-eat buffet comprises stations named after sections of the city where you can sample an array of scrumptious chocolate desserts, including chocolate pizza in the North End section, homemade crackerjacks in Fenway Park, and an assortment of dessert sushi in Chinatown. Other samplings include mousses, specialty cakes, fresh made donuts, homemade ice cream sandwiches, fresh baked cookies, tortes, and chocolate bread pudding.

Because of its ideal location, The Langham is within walking distance of some of the city's best hot spots, including The New England Aquarium, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Downtown Crossing, The Freedom Trail and even The North End.
