World famous American singer Lady Gaga stepped off the plane to Johannesburg to a chorus of chants, tears, and praise as she made her way through the airport. An unexpected detour by airport security prompted angry responses from fans who didn't get a chance to see their favorite idol, but a few lucky ones were able to see her as she exited the airport via an alternative route.

Tears flowed and screams echoed around Lanseria International Airport on Tuesday night when American singer Lady Gaga arrived.

“I can't believe it happened, I saw my idol. I've waited a long time to see her, it's the best feeling in the world,” said Bornman de Villiers, 24, while sitting on the floor crying like a baby.

Some people had been at the airport all afternoon to catch a glimpse of “Mother Monster”, as she is also known to her fans.
