Sometimes it’s fun to go on a trip with a couple of your friends, explore everything about the destination, visit its top tourist sites, meet locals and devour the region’s best foods. Other times, having your own private 150-acre island to host 24 of your loved ones with nothing else around other than pristine ocean and green landscapes, seems like way more fun.
Exuma Cay islands, Musha Cay in the southern Bahamas, is home to the Great Exuma Villa which has (among other amenities) 12 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a pool, tennis court, an onsite staff and basically sounds like the best time ever.
Separated into five homes, guests can choose from options like a charming guest villa, a massive 10,000-square-foot mansion on a hill, or the five-bedroom home nearby. With the bedrooms being split up this way, it gives vacationers a little extra privacy instead of sharing the same space under one roof.
Inside the English-colonial style homes, the island-style décor is emphasized with bright punches of color, wood furnishings, crown moldings and high ceilings. Depending on the room choice, you’ll find a twin, king or queen-sized bed and the masters include en-suite bathrooms.
Outdoors, guests can enjoy meals under the warm Caribbean sun on the mahogany wood terraces and deck. Since the villa is pre-stocked prior to arrival, you can easily whip up a meal in one of two fully-equipped kitchens or make use of the barbeque outside. When the evening starts to cool, warm up in one of four hot tubs or watch a movie at the “drive-in” movie theater on the beach.
And what’s an island adventure without some water-sports fun? Travelers can make use of paddle boards, jet skis, private speedboat or make a day of ocean cruising on the 28-foot Nautilus Rib Catamaran. Around the villa there’s also a gym, spa, billiard room and an entertainment center for times you’d rather not jump in the water.
Either way, no matter what you’re doing, you’ll most likely have a good time since your friends and family will be joining you. To rent the private resort, you’ll need to shell out $57,000 per night for a minimum of four nights plus a $25,000 damage deposit. If you’re really adventurous you can rent the villa for the whole month for $1.6M and have a non-stop party all four weeks. The only question that remains now is, who are you going to invite?
