This month, Four Seasons announced the opening of its private island Maldives resort, the brand’s first exclusive archipelago and world’s only exclusive-use UNESCO hideaway in a World Biosphere Reserve. Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah is a seven-bedroom home that sits on five acres of land and can accommodate up to 22 guests.
Geared toward the well-heeled, the Beach House will cost guests around $46,360 a night but will of course include private use of the entire island. “At Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, guests can design their own experience,” said Armando Kraenzlin, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. “They can treat the island as a space to spend captivating moments with family and friends … the most exclusive VIP venue to celebrate and party; or an inspiring landscape to meet and motivate.”
To get to the island, guests are transported via a 40-minute seaplane from Malé International Airport or a 20-minute speedboat ride from Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru. Inside the Beach House, guests will find an open-air living room, kitchen, library, dining room, gym, loft lounge and the bedrooms which are located in three separate areas. Aside from the main house, two separate villas sit on either end of the island and include private pools. The two-bedroom estate rests over the ocean, while the three-bedroom abode sits directly on the beach.
Called the Mezzanine Suites, the additional accommodations sit on separate ends of the Beach House and include a living room, outdoor sea-view shower and panoramic balcony. The estate also features a lounge area, pool table and a Bunk Room with beds for up to four children. Plus, ensuring that every aspect of your holiday is worry-free, 28 staff members are on-hand 24/7 to assist with any questions or needs that may arise during your visit.
When it comes to dining, your wish is their command. Whether you prefer an al fresco dinner on the beach, an in-suite breakfast or an island barbecue, the team will create exactly the type of affair you’re desiring. They can also mix things up with a theme night such as Bollywood, Lobster Celebration or a Maldivian Fisherman’s Feast. And since there are no neighbors, your parties can last as long into the night as you’d like.
Among the island’s amenities is the use of a 62-foot yacht, the Ocean of Consciousness Spa and access to the Dive Centre. At the spa, travelers can enjoy over-water therapies or join in on yoga, meditation and pranayama classes. Rossano Ferretti hair consultant is also on call should you wish to get dolled up one evening. Guests can also experience the island’s bounty by participating in activities such as diving with whale sharks to swimming with turtles, snorkeling with year-round manta rays, or surfing the secret breaks of Baa Atoll.
But if you really want an intimate experience, the property also includes its own private island, an even more exclusive retreat. Here you can enjoy a romantic catered dinner illuminated by candles and the moonlight. Because why wouldn’t a private island have its own private island?
