In the midst of uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic, a passionate pizza enthusiast, embarked on a culinary journey that would lead them from their home kitchen to a thriving pizzeria in Orange County, California. Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market is dedicated to bringing authentic New York-style pizza to the West Coast.

Brooklyn born and raised, Gus Floris went on a mission to recreate the flavors of his beloved hometown. The result has been nothing short of remarkable, catapulting Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market into the ranks of local favorites and garnering national recognition as a must-visit hot spot for one of the best pies in Orange County! Supported by his wife and partner, Margarita Floris, who runs the front of house, the duo wanted to create a destination for those who crave the true taste of the East Coast, and they did just that.

"At our core, we are driven by a passion for pizza. It's not just a pie for us; it's a labor of love," remarked Gus Floris, co-founder of Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market. "When we first moved to Laguna Niguel over nine years ago we couldn’t find a decent pie, so I set out to make a pizza that reminded us of home. It was more of a hobby and had no idea where it would lead us. Today, we are thrilled to share our love for pizza-making with the community through Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market."

Every pizza crafted at Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market is a testament to their dedication to quality. Using only the freshest ingredients sourced both locally and from Italy, each pie is made to order, ensuring a delectable experience for every customer. The dough, a cornerstone of any great pizza, is made from high-protein flour and is meticulously prepared. It undergoes a cold fermentation process, resulting in the distinctive New York crust and flavor that sets their creations apart. This commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed with raving reviews online.

“To think this literally started as a hobby during the pandemic and now we have a full blown pizzeria where people travel far and wide to taste our food,” says Margarita Flores, co-founder of Brooklyn City Pizza and Market. “It’s wonderful to have turned a passion into a family business.”

As Brooklyn City Pizzeria and Market continues to thrive, they invite the community to join them in sharing their love for pizza.
