After completing its second phase of renovations and resting in Panama for a month, Silver Galapagos made her first expedition voyage this month. Silversea Expeditions' all-suite ship underwent updates to its accommodations, corridors and the Explorer Lounge.

Dressing their interiors in elegant blues and beiges, the décor echoes that of the recently refurbished Silver Discoverer. Last year, the 100-room vessel installed new in-suite bathrooms with rich marble detailing and added a massage room, beauty salon, fitness center, a signature outdoor dining venue and an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Silver Galapagos

From Saturday to Saturday, Silver Galapagos sails through the Galápagos Islands on seven-day journeys taking either a western or north central route. During the excursions, guests will get a chance to discover the wild and beautiful paradise regarded as a natural laboratory of evolution. Land iguanas, marine iguanas, giant tortoises, penguins, sea lions and Darwin's famous finches are some of the abundant wildlife that scurry about the islands. Included in each ticket are also complimentary expeditions ashore by experienced expedition teams (certified by the Galápagos National Park Service).

This year alone, Silversea Expeditions has been voted by Travel + Leisure (seven times) and by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler (nine times) a "World's Best,” and was awarded "Best Small Ship Cruise Line" by Global Traveler and "Best Luxury Cruise" by TravelChannel.com. Galapagos Expedition cruises start at around $5,450 per week.
