Luxurious Travel Accessories for The Modern Gentleman

When travelling, practicality comes into play just as much as style. While this could pose potential difficulties for many men, the art of travelling in style is not difficult to achieve if you know how. There are, in fact, a wealth of luxurious travel accessories available to the modern gentleman to ensure that he pays the location he chooses to reside in the respect it deserves.

The Humble Travel Bag

It is often claimed that you can tell a great deal about a man just by glancing at his travel bag. A tatty and dishevelled bag does not give off the air of sophistication or chicness that you should be wishing to obtain.

A beautifully crafted and stunning men’s travel bag will ensure that while keeping your possessions secure, you can look and feel respectful. A leather travel bag is particularly useful as not only does it look impressive, but it can also be kept clean easily which is important when travelling.

Don’t Let Your Watch Wind You Up

Every gentleman can appreciate an elegant watch. You exude an air of authority and style that cannot be replicated by any other means. We all have our favourite watches, yet it can be difficult maintaining them, especially when they are manual watches that need winding to ensure that they continue to display the correct time.

The chances are that when you are on holiday you take several pairs of watches with you to suit a variety of looks and occasions. This is where a watch winder is essential; there are a variety of options and colours available to purchase. I recently purchased a blue watch winder, which has been specially designed to accompany people on their travels. There are also a variety of customs Cubbies available, which can be stacked to create a larger unit.

 Keep Your Passport Covered Up

While this may be perceived by many as unnecessary, particularly as many prefer the design of the original covers anyway, a passport cover is an item which is essential for a keen traveller. Passports are not the sturdiest of documents and yet the most important when going abroad, so it is important to protect it. What people don't realise is that passport control in other countries (and even within the UK) can refuse you entry if they are unable to decipher the information in your passport, or have difficulty swiping the document.

My son recently returned from travelling around Europe and managed to completely erase the embossed print on his passport. While it may seem like a trivial and aesthetic concern, it could actually cause you unnecessary problems when asked to present your passport. If you come face-to-face with a stern border officer, he could well decide that your passport is not fit for purpose and questions its authenticity- something which my son experienced first-hand!

When travelling, accessories are essential in making life easier whilst also keeping up an air of elegance and sophistication. When purchasing travel accessories, it is most important to consider the best size, materials and fastenings, and of course style, to make sure that it is suitable for all the types of journeys you may be doing.
