The Collings Foundation Offers a Hands-on Experience of World War II Hisotry

The Collings Foundation

If you have always wanted a peek inside a World War II restored aircraft, here is your chance.

Running throughout the East Coast now through November 2, The Collings Foundation is operating the final 2014 leg of the Wings of Freedom Tour of World War II Aircraft and the Vietnam Memorial Flight of Vietnam-era aircraft. It’s the chance of a lifetime to see a real piece of history on display.

For the past 25 years, they have been traveling the country and recently exceeded 2,870 stops. While they were at Norwood, Mass. we were able to climb on board a 1944 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress "Nine-O-Nine"and 1944 Consolidated B-24J Liberator "Witchcraft".

For a front row view of history, book a 30-minute flight experience aboard one of these planes where you can actually relive what it must have been like aboard during World War II. If you prefer to stay on the ground, you can still have a climb through the planes while sitting as a bombardier, standing as a gunner or monitoring the cabin as a flight engineer.

This is one of the best experiences to observe a piece of World War II history.
