Bucharest is an emergent destination and the following years many tourists may wish to visit it for leisure - as it sounds exotic, but also because most important travel guides have recommended Romania as destination, and Bucharest is the country’s most important air gate. A city-break in either Bucharest or Brasov are to be considered for one to start exploring Romania.

Bucharest offers- joy for tourist of any age
The legend says that the city names comes from Bucur, the shepherd, who settled on banks of Dambovita River. In Romanian “Bucur” means “joy, enjoyment”, and Bucuresti can be interpreted as “you are joyful”! Documents dating from medieval history show that Greek Phanariots named the settlement Hillaripolis, which means “city of joy” in Greek. And there was no connection whatsoever with the shepherd's legend, but the way the Bucharest buzz. Today, Bucharest carries on to deserve its name. Festivals, shows, humongous events are more cheerful than ever. The nightlife is spicy and colorful and regardless what a tourist might look for, Bucharest is the destination where he can experience from lovely dinners in fancy restaurants, opera and theater plays to clubs, pubs and casino agitation. 

Bucharest and Vlad the Impaler 
Many tourists travel to Bran to learn more about the character who inspired Dracula, Vlad The Impaler. Well, they can find stories and the building where Vlad IIIrd (Tepes – the Impaler) had his summer residence right in the heart of the city. Actually, he was the first to mention Bucharest in an official document in 1459. Thus, he might rather be regarded as one of the spiritual fathers over Bucharest than a cruel vampire!

Bucharest has the biggest wellness center in Europe
For tourists who look for relaxation and wellness, then Bucharest is once again the place. Just few miles away from city, it was very recently opened Therme, the largest thermal spa in Europe.
