Really, really ridiculously good-looking supermodel Derek Zoolander has just landed the cover of Vogue. Actor Ben Stiller, who plays the title character of the upcoming film Zoolander 2, and his co-star Penelope Cruz, grace the cover of the February issue, flashing us that iconic Blue Steel face. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the accompanying spread features Zoolander posing with some of the biggest names in fashion. He preps backstage with supermodels Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn and Joan Smalls, stands through a fitting with designer Alexander Wang, and tosses his hand up to the paparazzi to block the flashing lights of fashion photographer Kevin Tachman.
The cover is only the latest in a string of fashion-related marketing campaigns for the upcoming sequel. Last March, Stiller and Owen Wilson walked the finale of the F/W 2015 Valentino runway show as Zoolander and Hansel, and more recently, Stiller posed for Mario Testino’s Towel Series, graced the cover of L'Uomo Vogue, and starred in a Cîroc ad. We’d keep an eye out for even more witty marketing moves, but as the film comes out February 12, it seems that they saved the best for last.
