It looks like By Kilian, the luxury brand that we featured last week for its new fragrance trio, is on a roll in 2013. The label, which has 19 fragrances on the market, was just given the 2013 Fragrance Foundation Indie Award for its scent called Amber Oud. The luxury fragrance was selected as the winner out of 30 entries, based on both the scent and its packaging.

A Tempting New Fragrance Trio from By Kilian

Just judging by its name, a new project by niche luxury perfume brand By Kilian seeks to truly test your willpower. The collection, called "In the Garden of Good and Evil," includes three new scents derived from fruity, spicey, floral, and woody fragrances. For $245 per 50-ml bottle, you can either enter "The City of Sin," channel your "Good Girl Gone Bad," or experiment with "Forbidden Games." The trio will roll out to 170 doors worldwide this spring, and are expected to generate $15 million in retail sales in the first year.

Carlos Benaim Named First-Ever Master Perfumer at IF&F

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. has just named Carlos Benaim their first-ever master perfumer. With more than 45 years under his belt along with a stellar selection on sensory indulgences for a range of luxury brands, including the original Polo green by Ralph Lauren, White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor and Armani Code for Women by Giorgio Armani, the fragrance company couldn't pick a more qualified man for the job. The IFF has had many chief perfumers, including legend Bernard Chant, but Benaim is the first to gain the title of master perfumer, a great accomplishment and honor for Carlos Benaim— and his illustrious nose.
