We love shopping for dads during Father’s Day; something about being knee-deep in the men’s department halfway between blazers and accessories really gets our blood pumping. Surrounded by the smell of the cologne and all those dapper suits just puts us in the gift-giving mood. But if dad has a full closet and really only wears one fragrance, then what's left to get him? You could always try our Father’s Day gift guide of accessories, but if pop has a penchant for timepieces then we have a few suggestions for some of the newest, luxury watches that dad will love any time of the year. Bookmark this page—you may need it again come Christmas.

Breva’s Génie 01

For the more adventurous dad who may need to know weather, barometric pressure or altitude for, let’s say, his next mountain climbing expedition—we love Breva’s Génie 01 in platinum. Limited to only 12 super-exclusive pieces, this timepiece is offered in a platinum finish with a hand-stitched, navy blue, alligator leather strap. This meteorological watch has dual aneroid capsules to measure air pressure and also features an altitude indicator, barometric pressure indicator, power reserve indicator, air pressure equalizer, equalizer seal indicator, barometric scale adjuster, and altitude scale adjuster all housed in a neat 36mm watch case.

Breitling’s Superocean Chronograph Steelfish

Seafaring fathers will love Breitling’s Superocean Chronograph Steelfish for more than just its classic look. Made to offer the best performance come “hell or high water” this 44 mm steel encasing houses a high-frequency, self-winding Breitling caliber 13 surrounded by a glare-proof, cambered sapphire crystal enclosure. The face features Arabic numerals, date display and luminescent coating for visibility in every kind of lighting; it’s surrounded by push buttons that are locked until needed. Add in elements of rubber and you’re looking at quite the water-ready watch.

Terrascope Black Matt Dial from JEANRICHARD

For a luxurious everyday watch we love the Terrascope Black Matt Dial from JEANRICHARD. With a pink-gold bezel set against the rich black casing and alligator leather strap, this timepiece is simple enough to wear daily, but has enough pop to keep it from looking ordinary. Housed in a black, 44 mm case with antireflective sapphire crystal, the watch face features pink-gold indexes and hands, and is highlighted in luminescent material. Plus it’s water resistant up to 100 meters so dad can wear it at the pool, the beach or out on the lake.

CT Scuderia

Speed freaks out there will likely love the CT Scuderia timepieces—in particular the Due Tempi collection. This dual watch tracks two time zones with two internal Swiss movements and two crowns placed on the 12 and six o’clock respectively. It’s inspired by the Kawasaki 500cc racer bike which has—you guessed it—a two-stroke engine. Noticing a pattern? Large dials at three and nine o’clock show the brands insignia and birth year, and the strap is made of Crosta Nubuck leather—the same material as some Italian shoes and belts.

Alpina

For more vintage elegance we love Alpina’s Alpiner Automatic that comes in a cool variety of metal finishes and strap options. If you want to play with a little color to see what dad might like best, then this is the perfect watch. Available in black, sliver and gray, it features rose gold dials, and the strap comes in either leather or steel. The AL-525 automatic three-hands date movement is housed in a 41.5 mm case with dome shaped dial and antireflective sapphire crystal.

Eleven James

If you’re not sure what kind of watch to get dad—which can be hard considering his impeccable taste—then you may want to consider a subscription to Eleven James. An annual membership program, Eleven James collects rare timepieces from all over the world including Rolex, Patek Philippe and Hublot and allows them to be rented for up to two months at a time. Dad can place watches in his queue and switch them out as often as he likes. If dad is very into style, doesn’t like holding onto one accessory for too long or is a little hard to shop for, this makes an easy, perfect gift.
